What a year! The world seems to be closing in around me. My stress levels are off the chart. Some days I don't know if I will make it through without a total break down. The loss of two parents, children grown up and out on there own only worries me more as how they will survive. The economy is well into a downward spiral. Living pay check to pay check isn't even there anymore. Brother and three nephews called to war. Will they return as they left? Will our two sons be drawn into this crazy unjust politically and oil motivated conflict? Nearly 41 and I am going through my change to early. School is nearly complete for me and what will be waiting out there for me? Jobs are becoming scarce. I feel that I am whipped.

Minnesota winter dulldrums. Sick of the cold, feet never seem to get warm. Chilled to the bone, bones creak like the ice cracking beneath your feet walking across a frozen stream. I want to hybernate like the bear, snuggle into bed with warm covers wrapped around me. The septic is frozen. The frost so deep with no snow cover to shelter it from the deep chill. No showers, no washing of clothes or dishes, no toliet, the worst. Calling the bucket brigade.

Minnesota spring delight. Just around the corner. I hope that I can survive this dark den and enter into brightness with the sun warming my face. I keep telling myself soon. Just a little longer and all will be right in the world again. Birds singing, flowers blooming, sweet smells and the sun warming my face.

I have been given the go ahead with my
project proposal. I began researching some information on the net regarding Minnesota Health, first looking for the history to its beginnings. Thinking that I would first start with a story I remembered hearing about a baby that had died in the mayors office of Hubert H. Humphrey. I was surprised to come across a site that was a wiki for Humphrey.

I feel as if I am overwhelmed with my classes this semester. Three are computer progressive and require a large amount of time. I am up for the challenge but I am still somewhat intimidated by it all.

I often wish that I had more free time to pursue my hobbies here at home. I miss crocheting, needle point and working out in the shop building a new piece of furniture. I did this last weekend begin, after several months of down time, building a new pine china hutch with my husband. I so enjoy spending that quality time with him.

The new puppy is showing her mischieveness. Time for a behavioral enhancement. She is such a smart animal with lots of potential. It just doesn't pay though when they chew up the furniture. I think a little zap will do her.

Here we go again. After visiting several class colleagues sites I need to make some links to them. They are all good sites, some a little more than others. Please take no offense if I don't list your's today.

First in line is Ayleen's. Now why anyone wouldn't pick her site is beyond me. I know that Ayleen is quite talented and knowledgeable when it comes to blogging, she's been doing it longer than any of us. The reason for me picking hers is that she can show us what can be done when a person is involved with this process. All the links that are a part of her shine through. Excellant blog. I found this site of Chad's humourous. I like the little blurps he puts in. They don't mean anything and yet they do. Causes you to think just a bit what he's trying to say. His stories are great too. I don't think that he'll have anything to worry about in writing exercises for classes. His mind seems to be full of ideas. tweence

I am working to finish up on assignments missing. One I have noticed is the exercise from 1/17 on Set up a Web Log. I have not completed Part II and Part III. I will make an attempt to fulfill my requirements.
I looked in Blood's book and found a site that seemed befitting of my academic background.

This site is a daily chronicle of current news events affected by Homeland Security and Military operations in newsgathering by journalist.
I liked this site because it does deal with news as it is happening, voiceing the concerns to distribute information to the public by maintaining their First Amendment Rights to the public without henderance from our government.

This site reminds me of our own community day book. This site contains daily entries from various individuals on different topics in the machinist world. What really surprised me was that my husband for several months has been part of this forum or as we call it blogging and neither of realized that it is done with the same concept. Pretty cool.

Hurray, by George I think I am finally catching up to the rest of the class. Things are starting to fall into place just hope that I am able to keep up with the pace. Thank so much to Caroline and Ayleen for getting me back on track. Your help was truely appreciated. That Ayleen is a true wizard when it comes to all this business. I can see why you are the TA for the class, you are a shining star.

This blogging thing is really starting to frustrate me. I have not been able to get in on the team writing. Mike's e-mail invite for team response refuses to come through for some reason. I don't understand. Another day in class tomorrow and hopefully we can work out these kinks. Tonight I will hopefully get caught up on all the reading assigned and by next week's class I should be up to par.

Well I am back!! Our trip to Chicago was both wonderful and of course very sad. Such a wonderful tribute to my mother-in-law, one can only hope to go out with so effecting so many people's lives. I'll miss her terribly and will always miss our conversations. There were still so many things that I wanted to ask her about. Why is it that the living no matter how much they try can never get all the answers before they are lost to our ancestors? I hope and pray that there is an afterlife where I can continue my conversations with her.

Hello to my class. Sorry that I am not there with you all to learn the ins and outs of this course. I hope that I am not missing to much. I am down in Chicago. My mother-in-law passed away the day before x-mas and the family had decided to wait til after the holidays for her memorial. It's a sad time for us needless to say but we are looking forward to meeting all her friends and comrades. Her services is to be quite large so this will be interesting for us. The weather is not as cold as up there but mind you the lake is here and it feels just as bad. Stay warm and don't let me get to far behind. Keep me up dated. I'll try to get back on. Hope to see you all on Tuesday.

I am finding that I am spending just a little to much time brousing through these sites and neglecting my duties here at home. I need to take the puppy out for her walk, finishing getting supper together and finish washing the laundry so that I have something warm that I can wear tomorrow. I hate when it gets as cold as it is. I suppose that I should be grateful that our MN winters are compareably mild considering what is norm for this time of year. I still find it hard to get out and enjoy playing with my puppy though when it is as cold as it is now.

I spent most of this morning tramping around in the blog world. Never before hearing about such things until I began a course in weblog it peek my interest for example: http://www.patriotwatch.org/ http://www.libertythink.com/ blogsisters.blogspot.com and www.blahblahblog.com . I am completely an amature at this so forgive my inaptness. I find that I am often drawn to sites that have something to say on social issues. I was dumbfounded to find so many in blogging. I believe this will be a way for me to converse, debate, learn about issues that are important for me to understand my place in this world. I also like the idea about throwing my thoughts and opinions out there for others to comment about. I have many things that run through my mind and would write about. A new door has opened and hopefully many things will enter through it.
